Message from Rick Staly

Dear Friends,

It has been an honor and a privilege to serve as Flagler County Sheriff for the past three years. In 2016, I asked for your vote and for the opportunity to work to reduce crime, to restore integrity and pride in the Office of Sheriff and to protect our tax dollars.

With strong support from the community, the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office has employed new strategies to pro-actively address crime in our community. In just three years, we successfully reduced the overall crime rate in Flagler County by an unprecedented 47% – the lowest crime rate in 25 years! Traffic fatalities were reduced 67% since 2017.

Under my leadership the Agency has implemented a new vision for crime reduction and service delivery, new initiatives and new technologies which are producing positive results.  Citizens are engaged and joining us in the effort to combat crime. Residents are providing vital information and adopting crime prevention strategies, which together make our neighborhoods safer.

Career criminals are now keenly aware that the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office is committed to the relentless pursuit and apprehension of criminals preying on our community .

I am proud of the accomplishments we have made together, but the work to protect and preserve the extraordinary quality of life in our community is an ongoing mission.  That is why I am asking you to keep me your Sheriff in 2020.

In the coming months, I look forward to the opportunity to meet you, to hear your feedback and earn your vote for re-election in 2020.
